In the Caribbean created the most incredible artificial coral reef

In April 2017, a giant kraken sculpture was flooded with a ship from World War II near the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean as the birthplace of a new coral ecosystem.

A project called BVI Art Reef is the work of NGO Unite B.V.I. in collaboration with Secret Samurai Productions, a group of artists, Maverick1000 Social Entrepreneurship Group, and the non-profit educational organization Beneath the Waves. "It is estimated that in a short time the ship and sculpture will attract a huge number of sea creatures. Everything from corals to sea sponges, sharks and turtles will settle here."- says Klive Petrovich, one of the project managers.

In addition, the creators of the BVI Art Reef hope that the kraken and the ship will attract the attention of diving tourists and a new generation of people who are keen on saving the ocean to the British Virgin Islands. The ship was specially prepared and cleaned in accordance with the highest standards, which ensured its safety for the ocean and its inhabitants, as well as for divers.
