In England, built a unique home for the disabled so that they feel comfortable

According to statistics, 13% of people over 80 suffer from various forms of dementia - a disease that includes a wide range of degenerative brain changes, which also includes Alzheimer's disease. Needless to say, in foreign countries, old people with such diseases have learned to help live, alas, much better than ours? In addition to the fact that scientists are constantly working on medications that correct and ease such conditions in older people, social workers, along with psychologists, also try to make the lives of their patients with dementia easier and more enjoyable.

For example, this nursing home in Yorkshire (England) has taken a new step in helping its residents. The employees came up with how to stimulate the guests with familiar and happy memories, recreating street scenes from the past. The interior design is done in retro style: cafes, bakeries, shops and a movie theater seemed to have left the pages of the magazine of the 50-60s.

While many nursing homes look like depressing, sterile places where people die, this one is designed to get old people to be active and to help them live their days as close as possible to their normal lives.

"We are trying to create here many different areas that will allow residents to do what they always did, and their visitors to be involved in these actions."- notes one of the leaders of the institution Lawrence Garton.

The luxurious nursing home has 78 rooms and only one significant drawback is the price. A week of stay here in all inclusive mode will cost relatives or the patients themselves $ 900.
