Tromso - Norway's "most" northern city

Tromsø - I’m relishing the unfamiliar name of the northern Norwegian town on my lips ... And again - Tromsø. Something northern, of course, slips in this word. And of course, there should be a story about fishing, about the fact that there is often the northern lights, and about the empty streets that you can wander around, indulging in thoughts about transience, you can also tell. And about the brewery ... For a minute, the Mack brewery, founded already in 1877, is the northernmost brewery on the globe! This fact alone makes beer lovers fly to Tromsø and order a pint of dark ale, but how could it be otherwise?

It would be possible to continue the story, remembering about the conquerors of the Arctic, well, or about the northernmost zoo. Yes, yes, he is also in this, judging by the photographs, the nondescript and colorless Tromsø. In general, it’s a kind of snuff-box city, but today the sky above it is dramatic-dramatic, and the harsh Norwegian spirits decided to play their favorite game with rare tourists: when there is a lot of snow and wind, and even if you don’t hide, no, no and you’ll get a fresh serving right in the face! Such harsh customs here.

In Tromsø there is a monument to the Amundsen polar expedition. It was from here that the food for his sled dogs was delivered - 20 tons of dried cod.

Behind the glass walls of this building is a wooden ship that has spent 44 seasons.

This bridge (1 km 36 m) was built in 1960 by the architect Erling Wikszö and was designed to facilitate the transportation of goods. Previously, a ferry was used for this, the operation of which depended on the weather.

View of the city from a height. It is believed that the mountains surrounding the city protect it from the open sea and cold winds from Lapland. But judging by the sensations, Tromsø is simply open to all the northerly winds.

The storm, the storm will break ...

In addition to us, there were several tourists on the mountain slopes, but they quickly "noted" near the station, a couple of selfies and back. Ours could not be stopped, sometimes there were ideas to come up here in the evening, but thoughts about the pub personally attracted me much more than the next portion of snow in the face.

The cable car building at the top of the mountain. That's where there is more than enough snow. In places, snowdrifts are higher than 2 meters, and employees here do not have to get bored.

This place is considered by locals to be the best beach. Well, yes, these are they, harsh Norwegians, resting here, sunbathing ...

The ice is bright blue in the vicinity of Tromsø. This is really an unusual sight when the whole world is black and white and suddenly in the middle of it is a bright spot of blue! Someone in the group even exclaimed in surprise.
