23 pictures of 70s life in Tokyo through the eyes of a Canadian photographer

In the 1970s, photographer Greg Girard went to Tokyo to get acquainted with an exotic city. But the Japanese capital was so impressed and fascinated by the Canadian that without thinking twice, he decided to stay here to live. Gerard almost immediately started earning a living with English lessons, and in his spare time from teaching, he studied the magnificent and colorful Tokyo, trying to capture his busy everyday life. The photographer took pictures in a rented dark room and sent the slides to a commercial laboratory. Until recently, no one knew about the existence of this amazing collection of photographs by Greg Girard, but some time ago, the famous The Magenta Foundation collected and published works by the Canadian in Tokyo-Yokosuka. And believe me, it was worth it!
