France promises reward to anyone who can read the text on a mysterious stone

The only symbols on the stone that can be interpreted quite unambiguously are the numbers 1786 and 1787, most likely indicating the year of some events. Due to the presence of these dates, the stone seems even stranger. After all, it turns out that this is not such antiquity - the find is no more than 250 years old. But what kind of language was used in this case, and why was the inscription made in such a primitive way, not characteristic of that time period?

The inscription is hollowed out on a huge boulder of granite, the surface of which has previously been processed. The mysterious text consists of 20 lines, with no punctuation or division into separate words.
