Travel blogger showed the "inside out" of her work, proving that Instagram is a big cheat
In this age of social networks and the constant exchange of photographs, everyone should know that not everything is as it seems.
Carolyn Stritch, a 32-year-old UK traveler, stunned 190,000 of her subscribers by showing how she tricked them into proving her point. "I came up with a fictional story and took fake photos to show the effects of these images."- says the Englishwoman.
"I made up a story: my perfect double, who is 10 years younger than me, flies to Disneyland for one day and somehow manages to take a picture alone in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle"- writes Carolyn. The girl took two fake pictures and, supplementing them with a fictional story, passed it off as reality. She shared an idyllic picture of herself in bed, announcing a fast trip, and the next day she posted a photo at Disneyland. In the picture, she stands alone in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle. And people believed her.
Thus, the blogger wants to explain that Instagram is a place where you can escape from reality, demonstrating your improved "I". “Nobody wants to see me in pajamas, with tousled hair hunched over my laptop in bed. So I spend most of my days. You want to see my books, my windows, my travel pictures, just like I want to see the best episodes of your daily life. "
Strich believes that showing your best "I" is not so bad, but there are certain boundaries. "In this project, I crossed this line, crossed the path, overcoming it, to look back, analyze and find out how far I could go, approaching my work with all responsibility".
