"Eyes of God": a mystical cave in Bulgaria

This place will surely appeal to lovers of spectacular shots and extreme sports. The cave located in Bulgaria called Prohodna attracts thousands of tourists every year with its unusual appearance. The fact is that in its arches there are two symmetrical openings that resemble the eyes of a person or some mythical creature. Due to this feature, the cave even got its second name - "Eyes of God."

The most famous cave in Bulgaria is located 2 kilometers from the village of Karlukovo. If you get from the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia, you will have to overcome about 110 kilometers, but this cave is worth it to go this way.

Passage is a karst cave with a length of about 260 meters. In addition to the famous holes, the Prohodna cave has two entrances. They differ in height of the arch: The small entrance has a height of 35 meters, and the Large - 45 meters. In general, the Prohodna cave is quite spacious, and judging by the height of the arches, it is the highest of all caves in Bulgaria. The width of the cave ranges from 15 to 25 meters. The holes in the cave arch, two entrances, as well as high arches contribute to the penetration of sunlight into the cave. Therefore, in the afternoon it is quite comfortable and not at all scary, in comparison with other caves.

This place is very popular not only among photographers, but also among lovers of active tourism. In the cave itself there are several tourist routes, including climbing ones. Here you can also meet fans of extreme jumping. It is noteworthy that Passage is open for independent research, that is, accompaniment of guides is optional. Although experts recommend that you use the service of escorts on your first visit, especially in winter, when there are dangerous slippery sections on the route, and icicles can form on the arches.

This amazing cave impresses with its view not only during moonlit nights. Particularly mystical looks Passing in the rain. Even people without imagination notice that the jets of water flowing down the walls of the cave make this place even more like a human face.
