How a shy Briton grew a beard that completely changed his whole life

If you still have not been convinced that men look better with a beard, then the story of 33-year-old Welshman Gwilim Pew will dispel any doubts.

At 21, the young man founded a very successful insurance company, without leaving his bedroom, and became a businessman. However, work from home and sports injury led the guy to overweight and pathological shyness. Nevertheless, one trip to the barber, who advised Gwilim to grow a beard, changed his whole life!

“At that time I was overweight, I worked 12 hours a day and suffered from injuries that prevented me from training,” says Pugh. “The business was going well, but I decided that I needed to put my life in order and want to be healthy again. "

A few years ago, Pugh and his friends created their own folk band, so the hairdresser advised the guy to let go of his beard to match the image of the musician. Having acquired a beard, Gwilim decided to supplement his transformation and began to adhere to a diet. As a result, the young man completely tied up his work at the table.

"My health became much better when I stopped sitting at the table for 9-10 hours a day," says Pugh, who lost 40 kg in 5 years. During this time, the guy managed to transform beyond recognition and create his own account on Instagram. In the end, the famous Welsh tailor Nathan Palmer came across his profile, and Gwilim’s life changed forever.

Today, Gwilim Pugh works in the London branch of the modeling agency AMCK Models. He has collaborated with brands such as Vans, Bud Light, Diesel and other fashion giants. He also became the face of a new men's brand created by David Beckham, House 99.
